Jeanine,

Without seeing the computer I can't tell you exactly what's going on, but I can give you some suggestions. In my experience Firefox itself doesn't slow the computer down, so I'm guessing there's something else happening and installing Firefox simply makes it more obvious. If you have less than 2GB of memory, you will probably notice slowdowns with Internet connections. You may also be infected with viruses and/or spyware. You can run Malwarebytes' excellent scanner at http://www.malwarebytes.org to find out. Be sure you are using the latest version of Firefox, which at this time of writing is 3.6.10. You can also run a cleanup program like CCleaner, http://www.ccleaner.com, to spruce up your system before installing Firefox. Hope this helps!

I'd like to use Foxfire but I tried it a while ago and found my computer running very slow. I uninstalled it. What am I doing wrong? should I do?

Hi Triona! I met you last summer at summer camp, our daughters would swing together before class :). I had misplaced your card but remembered your name and just decided to google your name to find your website to sign up for the tech tips! I've tried Firefox but just wasn't thrilled with it. I will try out some of the others you've suggested!

I think you forgot about Flock! Built on the same open source technology as Firefox, Flock fuels my addiction to social networking with one click posts! I love it, even though right now I'm using Google Chrome (incognito, because I like the secret agent in the top left corner).
